Instructions for Proposals
Oral, Symposium, Video or Workshop Presentation: Each presenter will be provided with 35mm slide projector ,an overhead projector, data show and video presenters will be provided with “VHS,NTSC track video machine and screen” all presentations must be in English.
Oral Presentation: Oral Presentations will be introduced in 15 minutes in length on a topic relevant to the themes of the congress, an additional 5 minutes may be devoted for questions.
Workshop: Workshops take from 90-120 minutes in length and are meant to provide specific educational activities that are relevant to the themes of the congress.
Symposia: Formal Symposia are groups of 3-5 oral presentations that introduce a topic relevant to the themes of the congress. Symopsia presentations must include the name of the chairman as well as the names of all the presenters and the titles of all presentations. Symposia take from 90-120 minutes in length.
Poster Presentation: Posters will remain exhibited throughout the duration of the congress. There will be dedicated time in the program for poster viewing with the presenters. Poster board size is 122cm x 244cm(4’highx8’wide) and all materials must fit within this space. Posters must be presented in English. No audio visual equipment will be provided for poster presentation.
Video and Film Sessions: These will be special events of 90- or 180-minutes duration, involving the presentation of selected videos or films, followed by a period of discussion.
Instructions: *Abstract must be written in English . *Your abstract will be reproduced from the original form. *Please do not exceed 300 words written within the rectangle. *Accepted abstracts will be published in the abstract book. *Use Cardboard backing for mailing, do not fold the abstract. Faxes will not be accepted. *A VHS copy of the video must be sent together with the abstract form. *To assist you in preparing your abstract, please follow these guidelines.
Title: Type in capital bold letters.
Authors: Start a new line, indent 3 pitches for paragraphs. Type the family name followed by a comma then type the first name.
Affiliation: Start a new line. Type the name of the institution ,city and country only. use lower case.
Body of the abstract: *Start a new line, indent 3 pitches for paragraphs. *Start the objectives of the study, describe the methods, summarize the results and give the conclusions reached. *Use numerals for numbers and only very well known abbreviations and explain them the first time they appear. *Spell out Greek letters (alpha, beta, etc.). *The use of titles to introduce different sections within the body of the abstract is highly encouraged. *Figures should be cited within the text. Figures and legend for all the figures should appear at the end of the document. Electronic versions of the figures should be sent as BMP, VMF, TIF or GIF files. *Tables should be cited within text, a brief descriptive title should be provided at the top of each table. General statements about the table follow the title in paragraph form. All tables should be included at the end of the document. *Drug names, abbreviations and measurements: Generic drug names according to Rec INN or USAN should be used. Abbreviations should be defined the first time they are mentioned and should be standard. Measurements should be expressed in standard international units. *References should be given in the following order: author, article title, journal abbreviations, year, volume, number and pages. If the reference is a chapter in a book, the order will be as follows: author of the chapter, title of the chapter,” in the book.
Tables and Graphs: Neat and in black ink, must be included inside the rectangle.
Typing: Type inside the rectangle. Use a laser printer or a typewriter with a good black ribbon. Do not use a dot-matrix printer. Use type no smaller than standard size e.g. 12-point font (Times New Roman or Similar).
Payment: Payment of the congress registration fees is required for abstracts to be included in the program. Notification of Acceptance: All abstracts will be acknowledged. Acceptance/rejection letters will be sent.
Publication: Accepted abstracts will be published in the abstract book of the congress, the full text (paper) could be published after the congress upon request.
